Last Sunday on the 11th, we had our first event of the year, Pacific Road Runners! One of the important ways we integrate community and sustainability into this event is offering a collection service for gently used clothing items. Every single year, runners bring their gently used shoes and clothing to the event for us to donate to local organizations that support their community. Thanks to the runners generosity we collected and donated 74 kgs of shoes and clothing!! We at Green Chair love how enthusiastic everybody is about community being green at this event.
This year we took the donations to the Lookout Housing and Health Society, a local shelter that provides housing and support services to adults with low to no income. We chatted with a few people at the shelter and made some friends who were incredibly grateful.
